Seoul Robotics, an industrial autonomous driving company, announced on the 4th that its co-founder and CEO, Hanbin Lee, has been awarded the 'Alumni Achievement Award for Outstanding Accomplishments by Graduates Under 35 in 2024,' annually presented by his alma mater, Pennsylvania State University (Penn State).

Penn State, one of the world's leading engineering colleges, has been selecting 11 alumni under the age of 35 who have demonstrated outstanding achievements each year. While Asian graduates have been selected in the past, Hanbin Lee is the first Korean to receive this honor.

Hanbin Lee majored in Mechanical Engineering at Penn State and graduated in 2014. After completing his military service in Korea in 2016, he formed a study group to delve into artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous driving. In 2017, he participated in a self-driving software competition held in Silicon Valley, winning first place in the LiDAR category and ranking 10th overall.

Seoul Robotics, founded in 2017, is a technology startup leading the global industrial autonomous driving sector, with major global automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as its clients.

With the goal of listing on the KOSDAQ in 2025, Seoul Robotics is focusing on recruiting top talent and enhancing its research and development (R&D) to attract additional major clients in the global market.

Following his participation in the Penn State awards ceremony, Hanbin Lee met with the autonomous driving research institute under Penn State to share his vision for the industrial autonomous driving sector and conducted mentoring sessions for students to recruit outstanding talent.

Hanbin Lee, CEO of Seoul Robotics, stated, "I am honored to receive recognition from my alma mater, Penn State, as the first Korean recipient of this award," adding, "As Seoul Robotics actively recruits engineers to enhance our corporate competitiveness, we will continue to build networks to attract top talent from outstanding engineering colleges like Penn State, one of the world's leading engineering institutions."
In tandem with its commitment to attracting top talent, Seoul Robotics is offering personalized compensation packages for both experienced and entry-level software engineers. These packages feature annual salaries of up to 300 million won ($220,000) and stock options exceeding 100 million won ($73,000), tailored to candidates' qualifications and interview performance. This initiative reflects Seoul Robotics' commitment to attracting and retaining top-tier talent while ensuring equitable and competitive remuneration within the industry.
